Center Recognized with 2026 Leadership Award
This past January, representatives from the Center for Analytics and Data Science (CADS), along with several university colleagues, participated in the Austin AI Alliance State of AI in Austin 2026 Innovation Showcase. The event brought together leaders from industry, academia, and government to share insights on the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence landscape and its impact on the future workforce throughout the state.
During the showcase, attendees had the opportunity to engage with experts driving advancements in AI research, development, and real-world application. Conversations highlighted how organizations across the region are shaping responsible, impactful AI initiatives that support economic growth and community well‑being.
During the event, Texas State University and CADS Director Dr. Tahir Ekin were honored with a 2026 Leadership Award, recognizing organizations and individuals making significant contributions across six pillars of AI excellence:
- Innovation and research
- Real-world applications
- Workforce development and AI literacy
- Community and societal impact
- Responsible AI practices
- Individual leadership
Thank you to everyone who has been part of supporting CADS and our goal to be a trailblazer in analytics and data science, inspiring and empowering the world with data-driven innovations that solve complex challenges and transform lives starting with Texas Innovation Corridor.
