The Department of Information Systems and Analytics (ISA) at Texas State offers a wide variety of programs for students interested in data science.

The AI Curriculum Modules at Texas State University are an initiative by the Center for Analytics and Data Science (CADS), developed with funding from our NSF Expand AI grant. These modules are designed to enhance AI education across disciplines, offering introductory, foundational and domain specific content. 

CADS is hosting an AI/Machine Learning Education Series in collaboration with NVIDIA, Dell Technologies, and Mark III Systems. This bi-weekly free education series is 100% virtual and will include six sessions providing overview tutorials and hands-on labs. This introductory series will feature industry experts and does not require any specific background. Certificates will be provided at the completion of the series. 2025 Dates Coming Soon

This workshop will enable attendees to participate in interdisciplinary AI research groups and to incorporate AI in their subject-domain curricula. This innovative summer school program will train participants with the skills necessary to harness the potential of AI within their respective domains effectively while conducting research and educating their own students. We will emphasize the use of open-source material to tackle common pitfalls encountered in AI data analysis pipelines, including data sampling, feature selection, normalization, garbage-in-garbage-out phenomena, and overfitting. This workshop is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Award No. 2334268.

We are honored to support the Data Science Pathways in the Zeus Platform. This is developed by Texas State University System professors thanks to the initiation by Texas State's Translational Health Research Center and funding by Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. This online micro-credentialling program is designed to create successful pathways to a degree, a certification, or even a fast-tracked career in this high-demand industry.
