CADS Inaugural Year Review
Official Launch
Texas State University Center for Analytics and Data Science (TXST CADS) was officially launched in September 2023.

Original Call for CADS Research Grants
All Texas State faculty members with full-time, continuing nine-month academic appointments who conducted research in analytics, data science methods, and related applications were invited to apply for CADS Research Grants. The program provided seed funding to help TXST faculty strengthen their competitiveness for external funding opportunities. These grants were intended to catalyze multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research initiatives that supported the core research activities of CADS. The application deadline was December 22, 2023.
NSF ExpandAI Grant Awarded
TXST CADS team has received an award from the National Science Foundation entitled “Expanding AI Curriculum and Infrastructure at Texas State University to Advance Multidisciplinary Research and Grow a Diverse AI Workforce”. Anticipated funding totals $400,000. This award will accelerate the institutional transformation of TXST to build AI research capacity and provides the opportunity to become a part of the NSF AI Ecosystem.

CADS Research Discussions Initiated
The CADS Research Discussions kicked off with the first meeting on October 6th, 2023 where we discussed smart health external funding opportunities.
In it's first year, CADS connected with TXDOT, NSF, TexSAR, and interdisciplinary faculty in order to strengthen the TXST research ecosystem and set the foundation for developing the CADS Network.
First CADS Research Seminar Series
The CADS Research Seminar Series hosted presentations on topics of interest to the research community.
Featured speakers included Dr. Joe Allen (Texas Advanced Computing Center) on November 3, 2023; Dr. Joseph Geunes (Texas A&M University) on November 10, 2023; and Dr. Dincer Konur (Texas State University) on November 17, 2023.
